I hatched a lovely assortment of pullets from bought-in leghorn eggs. The breeder said they were from "barred" leghorns. I got a black pullet and cockerel, one pullet that looked like a cuckoo colour to me, and these three. Can someone please tell me what these colours should be called? And if indeed they are proper colours at all? (not that I mind, I think they are pretty.)

From the breeder's description it sounds like she would call this first colour a "furnace" or is it "furness"?

This second one sounds like what she describes as "Isabella"

And then this third one looks a bit barred and a bit like unclear lacing or maybe just like a blue with very pronounced dark margins in each feather? The general effect is almost like raindrops in a puddle of soot. This effect is more pronounced on the wings and back - the neck looks more like barred.

Can anyone help please?

The third one is indeed a cuckoo. The other two - I don't know what to call them.

The first and second sort-of-but-not look like the Gold/Silver Duckwing leghorns.

Yes they look Duckwing-like but the white in the hackles is different.

Yup. Hence my 'sort-of-but-not' remark, lol.
