I'm new to having turkeys, but my tom's feathers on his lower back was missing when i got him about a month ago. i noticed today that some is starting to go missing on his chest below his beard. is it time for him to start molting? he is a bronze if that makes any difference. thanks

It is moulting season here in Aus, another reason could be a mite, go to your local produce store and get a Lice / Mite dusting powder, and dust him.

If he does not have a mite, it will not hurt him.
