our tom Bonza we have at the moment(Impatiently awaiting his hens) is mostly organically fed and is thriving.I am curious as to what other people feed their turkeys.Do you feed them organically or not ? are they free range ? if you buy turkey feed what brands do you prefer?
we do not give any of our poultry genetically modified grains as we dont agree with gm products and dont use them ourselves so wont give them to our birds. Our birds get a large variety of grains, greens and worms, grasshoppers , crickets along with whatever they forage

Post subject:  This'n'that

We have just started out in Turkies, and at present we feed them mixed roller mill tailings from a local feed mill (same as the chooks), and weeds, slugs, snails and (their special favourite) millipedes from my garden, harvested as a resource  ( no pesticides used!, all companion planted) and kitchen scraps. So a varied diet. Albert the gobbler likes leftover fritz sandwhiches from kids lunches, and Lucielle likes cake.
Toni.
