I have some Laucke chick starter with Lasalocid sodium in it, the label says not to feed to game birds.
Is it safe for Golden pheasant chicks and or adults?
thanks

The Lauke Game Bird starter says it's for pheasants among other birds and doesn't contain the coccidiostat, but it does mention that if you need one to get one as a water additive. And a quick google brings up a fair few reports that says it is safe to use in pheasants in doses from 80-120ppm or there abouts. So based on those things, I'd probably feel comfortable feeding the chick starter if I had pheasants given the Lasalocid sodium dose in it is right in the middle of the 'safe' dosage range.

However take that with a grain of salt as I have no personal experience with pheasants. I'm sure you'll get a more accurate reply, but for me looking at what I read I'd probably feel ok doing it.

I had run out of food for them, and had the chick starter for chickens and after giving them some, i remembered about the medication in it.
Thanks

I always use Barastock for the baby pheasants , turkey starter (medicated). Never lost a chick.
I use Lauke Mills, show bird pellets for Adults, mixed with scratch mix. No dramas at all
