Hello

I'm hoping some one can help, I've recently brought home a chick that I rescued from a kitten, thankfully it hasn't been hurt other than a few missing feathers. But I am having trouble identifying it, its definitely not a chicken!
I think I have narrowed it down to either a peafowl or turkey, I know they look very similar when young but can any one tell me the difference? this one is white so unfortunately I'm unable to use colour as a guide

As white peafowl are both uncommon & pretty expensive, I would guess that its a turkey.
White turkeys are neither expensive or rare...

A turkey will have a bump on the top of its beak, well just on the head side of where the beak joins the head. It's called the snood. A pea chick won't have that.

Maybe post a picture if you're still unsure.

Yes, a picture would be good. Not that it will help me as I am not familiar with the chicks of each. But I'd be interested to see it!

It's 3 times the size of my chickens when they looked a similar age also those tail feathers had me thinking it couldn't possibly be a chicken, I'm so confused. Thank you all again for your help

Wow - an interesting looking chick! I have no idea! I'd love to hear what it turns out to be. (Love the fluffy duck in the background!)

When researching peacock and turkey chicks online I came across this image, which made me veer off thinking it was a chicken even more than I already was, in a way I'm hoping it is a chicken, not really set up for turkeys or peacocks!
