Despite the title of this thread it is not just for beginners.

The mods have received some complaints that a few members are posting in capitals and your attention is drawn paricularly to the above post:

Please do not post entirely in capitals. In the internet world, this is the equivalent of shouting. These posts could be deleted without warning

This also applies to the title of threads.

Would some kind person be able to tell me how to post a picture in my posts?

I have read the FAQ but am none the wiser.

I have photos in a flickr account. Is it possible to use insert photos from flickr into my posts?

The photo I want to upload is http://flic.kr/p/8mbJUh.

TIA

Karen

The main instructions live in Technical Helpline. :)

If you can generate an image code for that pic you can post the link to it to display it - or upload it to BYP's Gallery and post the link from there.

Hi

Backyard poultry is having some technical diffulties at the moment and many people are having problems posting. Therefore posting your question in multiple places does not get you a faster response.

This is particularly so when the three posts which preceded yours in his section are specifically on how to post photographs

Barbs,

Re photos - check out the Technical Helpline forum for assistance to use our Gallery. If you really get stuck, post in that forum.

Good Luck! :)

I'm going to add another tip here because I've noticed that some people are posting their email contact details, especially in the Wanted and Sales forum.

The Private/Personal Message(PM) facility here enables members to communicate with each other and is a convenient way of reducing the potential for spammers to send you junk mail.

For more info about using BYP's PM click on the following link: viewtopic.php?f=18&t=7958161

Hi I joined via facebook and it gave me my name as my username which I now cannot change! Obviously this is not ideal... how do I "quit" so that I can rejoin with a more satisfactory username? Thanks! :)

Hi Ruth, If you pm one of the Assistant Admin staff, they can change your username to one of your choice. Go to this page memberlist.php?mode=group&g=5317

Hi Ruth
If you send me a pm with your preferred user name I would be happy to change it for you.

Done!
