I want a broody. I thought mine went on Monday but seems to have been a false alarm dammit.

Well the two baby's are all grown up- 16 weeks and I can finally say with confidence I have two girls!

I spent about a week gradually introducing them to jack and oswin (my nearly one year old hen and rooster) in the garden so they could get away from any bullying but still establish the pecking order. For the last two nights they have slept in the pen with the two adults- all lined up on the roost sleeping happily together. The rooster is delighted he has another couple of hens but is being a total gentleman with them- showing them the best parts of the garden and offering them treats- a good rooster really is a delight to watch with his hens!

I am trying to upload photos on tapatalk but it's saying that the forum won't allow photos?

That's so lovely! 2 girls and with your flock together now! What a success after all the heartbreak. Love to see pictures when you sort out the issues.

Thanks everyone :hiya: well I jinxed myself- I think I might be dealing with cocci today- this morning when I went out the first girl (Sarah-Jane- sitting on my arm in photo above) was fluffed up and quite this morning- didn't really want to go out in garden and scratch around- I came home mid-morning (worried about her) and she was hunched up under house with eyes closed. So I have given her a dose of baycox and cleaned out the house and will do the same again next couple of days.

As you can see from above I managed to work out how to load photos of my beautiful girls!

She was egg A- always been the cuddlier of the two. Egg B is Jo who is the girl in front in the picture with the two of them on my knee together. Yes it's hard to tell them apart!

Fingers crossed the medicine will start to work soon!

Thank you so much :th

They're BEAUTIFUL !

Until I had my Aussie Langshan bantams I didn't realise how personable they are.

Thanks winglet- I'm very biased and think they are beautiful :-D they are such a nice personality - calm and curious- like to have a chat and a cuddle on their terms but like to have an independent scratch around in the garden. And terrific layers- my one year old hen laid all through winter - 2 week moult and has been laying ever since- I think they are a fantastic breed! :hiya:
