After switching to Barastoc pellets as a cost-saving measure, the already-reduced-due-to-winter-egg-laying came to a dramatic halt a few weeks back. They're back on Xtra Egg now, and I thought that two had come back on the lay on Saturday.... but NOOOOOOOO... I found a nest of eggs this afternoon... in the trailer ! Looks like the Australorp bantams & Leghorn bantams... but a few days locked up should give me a better idea.

That's THEM locked up... not me. :aaah!

A week on & I've discovered three eggs every day until two days back... now six eggs a day from at least seven individuals.

Doing ok here too, around 7-8 eggs a day from 18 hens, the pullets laying the best. One of the gold laced has been laying elsewhere, found the nest yesterday amongst frosty grass, had 9 eggs in it ....cheeky girl :-D

Three or four eggs a day here. I have four Pekin hens but eight pullets. I suspect the latter are the culprits.

My Australorp girls are providing an average of three eggs per day for the four girls. Perhaps this will increase now that the broody is returning to the flock, and Doodle, the rooster, has certainly taken a shine to her.

I only have 4 chooks. MY Orpington is a very poor layer so don't get much from her. My Wyandotte returned to normal yesterday after being broody, so should lay again soon. My Isa Brown who is over 3 yrs has laid the last 3 days in a row, and My Hy-Line who is nearly 3 laid the last 2 days but missed today. I'm happy with whatever I get at present.
