DUCKS:
Spend lots of time chatting with your buddies
Don't worry about how you move (waddling is not exactly sexy, but ducks don't care)
Never pass a puddle by
Play in the mud
Big feet are an asset
Take time out to lie in the long grass

QUAIL:
Eat often
Find somewhere cosy to nest
Drink lots of water
Why walk when you can run?

CHOOKS:
The grass IS always greener on the other side... until you get there & then someone else seems to have taken the best bits
Stick with your girlfriends
Sleep well... no need to stay up late
Get up early... the early bird gets the worm, and all the other good stuff on offer
If someone else is trying to hide food from you, it HAS to be better than what you already have... so CHASE them for it !

Chooks (Pekins):
Size doesn't matter, it's all about attitude.
Don't be afraid to get your best clothes dirty; you'll enjoy it and it all comes out in the wash.
Being small and pretty doesn't mean you can't scare the bezeejus out of a predator three times your size!
Mothers are not to be messed with.
Take the time to relax and lie in the sun - even if it makes you look like you've died!

Quail:
Never underestimate the element of surprise - especially when capable of a vertical take-off!
Hiding in plain sight doesn't work so well.
There's nothing better than a good, long bath!

Ducks:
Why walk when you can yell to your friend across the other side of the farm as loudly as you can, and repeat as many times as you like until they get the message perfectly correct.
It doesn't matter where your friends are going, you have to go too. After all its safety in numbers.
Mum doesn't mind if you sample all the leaves in the garden. The yummy one could be the next one.
Cows don't need water. We do.

Be here, in this moment. This piece of wheat, this leaf or this grub, this dustbath or bit of sunshine to bask in is my complete focus now.

Now is all there is.

ha! When you find an especially tasty treat, shout it out loud to the world so everyone knows, then run like crazy 'cause they'll all want to steal it from you!

Chooks
There's nothing like cuddling up to a feathered friend to sleep for the night.
When dust bathing, make sure you get a grain on every inch of your skin.
and
When you see someone coming out the back door run at them like your really, really, really, hungry, and look confused and disappointed if they don't have a small scrap for you.

Chooks:

Whatever everyone else is doing is what you should be doing, regardless of whether they're doing anything logical.
Therefore, lining up to use a single nesting box when there are six perfectly nice ones either side of it must be the right thing to do.

Playing out in the rain might make your feathers all soggy but you get the best bugs!
It's okay to join the chorus line when someone else is laying an egg!

(Just found this Winglet!)

Water out of the dog's bowl is infinitely superior to the water in the chook shed. If your friend drinks so much out of the dog bowl that she barfs, she may have barfed up something quite tasty, so it's worth investigating.

Ducks:
If life hands you an obstacle, collide with it and then fall over on your face.
If you need to lay an egg, just do it. The best place is right where you are now.

Chooks

Always hang around with your sisters and brothers.
Always check what they do, and copy them without delay.
