Post subject:  Egg transport from eastern Australia to WA

Hi, I have been looking for the answer to this question for a few years now, but thought I would try again, maybe someone has started to do this, but does anyone know a pet courier that would transport eggs from over east to WA. :?: As anyone in WA knows, eggs don't do so good on the trip over here by Australia Post, as they don't have a fragile service anymore.

They travel by air express post, so the risks of transit are about the same for east to west coast as most other places. If they are well packed you've got an OK chance by post. I'd avoid road transport as several days of rough roads would be disasterous.

I have had eggs posted and eggs delivered by courier.

the posted eggs have had a better hatchability rate, as especially via express post, they arrive quicker than road couriers.

also, I have found htat couriers STILL send by air..............

Maybe I was luck the one time I had them sent here by courier, from a seller who must have had some sort of deal with the courier, but that time was the best hatch, I had ever had, the rest of the times by post, I never had such a good hatchers

i have also had a quite a lot of eggs by post from over east. Varying results from 1/12 to 23/24! Most were somewhere in the middle which i think is acceptable. I generally find the postal service works well if the eggs are well packed and sent EXPRESS.

Maybe I was extra lucky that time I had eggs sent by the courier. :dontknow But I have had good & bad results, like most people who have eggs posted, as well, so if that's all there is, to get eggs from over east, to WA, I'll just have to keep my fingers crossed when I get the next lot. :hmmm:

I have just shipped eggs the other way via express post. To rural east coast (NSW) from rural west coast (WA) of Australia. After 1 week in the incubator 15 of 20 eggs are developing. I call that a success :-)
