An inevitable by-product of breeding poultry is unwanted cockerels and drakes.
Please use this thread to post your interest if you are happy to receive or give-away birds to be eaten.
People can then contact you via pm with available birds.
Please note, this is different from posting an ad in the main part of this forum.
It is more like a list of people who can be contacted before you need to post.

Thanks, Winglet. Melbourne is too far for me to pick up cockerals.

I read a thread that Ansitran will transport chicken between Melbourne and Sydney. If you let me know the size of chicken I will get a quote from them. I am after 4 at the moment.

Thank you.

I dare say Winglet is happy to help in the context of taking excess cockerels; Not supplying them...

Unfortunately for me but fortunate for some...

I have probably ? 20 x 5 week old light sussex cross araucana cockerels.
Cant actually eat that many so they need to go to someone who will.

Worth a trip if you are coming to south west Vic.

I am in the sutherland shire and as long as you can assure me the cockerals go into the pot, then you are welcome to whatever I have. I just got rid of a few but still hatching and I need to grow them out before they go anywhere.

Hi jocler,

I can assure you 100% whatever you will give me will go into the pot. My neighbour will make sure I cook them as they did with a bantam RIR which was supposed to be hen.

I shall look forward to hear from you when you think they are ready to be given away.

We met once at Dapto exhibition around 2007. I am hoping to go to the next Dapto exhibition.

I have 10 we would happily give away, 8-9wk old (think backyard cross).
Not 100% on sex but thinking most are roo's :(
The sooner the better too as nearly out if starter crumble and know they need grower but would prefer not to buy any if getting rid of them.
