Hi all
Haven't been around for a while due to my wife passing away a couple of years ago. I still have chickens though.
Problem is I have too many and would like to give 4 of them away to a loving home. 2 Chickens will be plenty for our family.
I have one Sussex Light, one Rhode Island red, one Isa and another one that I have no idea what it is but I'm sure it still lays.
Please PM me if you are interested.

Thanks gnol - that is a generous offer. Some idea of your location would be useful.

I just saw this late yesterday.
The Sussex and Rhode Island are about 5 years old and the Isa is about 2 years old. The unknown one is about 4 years old.
PM me your number and I'll call you to arrange a time this weekend if you like.

Sorry to hear your sad news gnol.

Hope someone "worth them" takes on your chookies - my Rhode Island and LS hens are around 7 years old and still lay brilliantly, a RIR has just gone broody for the first time ever, trying to decide whether to let her sit on eggs or not (given the heatwave conditions just now).

Do you still have the tomato varieties going, think I recall you had some terrific heritage strains, was that you? apologies if I've mixed you up with someone else.

Ifte and PossumCorner, thanks for your thoughts and kind words about my wife.

PossumCorner. Yes, the RIR and Suusex are still laying regularly and I expect they will for a couple of more years. It's just that I get too many eggs and have to keep giving them away.

And yes, that was me with the tommies. I finally got my act together this season and have panted about 40 plants. Going ok so far.
