Scots Greys have recently been added to the Australian Poultry Standards after being imported to Australia by Avgen.

They are not yet well spread around Australia and are still very difficult to buy.

They are light breed that lay white eggs and handle like a gamefowl. I can see these being a hardy backyard breed in the future.

There is a trio being auctioned by Peter West (a breeder in Brisbane) on a facebook group that has been set up to help poultry clubs and causes. 10% of the sale price goes to the Richard Porter EKKA Youth Fund in this sale. It is a fund that is helping regional Australian youths come to the Queensland Royal for five days and experience the poultry competition.

If you'd like to help regional poultry young people and at the same time acquire a trio of rare Scots Greys, the group where you can make a bid is here: ... 817568789/
