do you mean $30.00 the lot? they are $25 00 teach at point of lay. and that is their dearest. At auction for $15 to $20 each at point of layso the older they are the cheaper they become so at 38 weeks old you can pick them up for $6 to $10 each. just curious that is all

This pricing is reasonable - I have seen Isa Brown's sell regularly at auction for $40 each, and in a poultry supplier at Bendigo for $38 each.

isa brown point of lay pullets sell at auction every saturday in melbourne for between $10 to $20 ea and hens from 38 weeks old to 18 months old to $6.00 to $10ea. I can get you as many as you want 52 weeks old for $6.00 ( I have access to 1200 of them all free range birds) and 38 week olds going up for auction this saturday and will sell for $10.00 each aprox.
If you are paying any more then you are over paying. $38.00 each for isa brown pullets is over priced. They whole sale at $14.00+ GST+Hen levey in lots of 1000 and retail at Albury at $19.00 and in Melbourne at $25 ea to $30 ea. If you are paying more then you are over paying. I auction them every saturday 100 km aprox from bendigo on the edge of melbourne and I auction 50 to 100 pullets and 50 to 100 plus hens per week.
i have been doing this for 28 years.

I'm sure they are lovely and well cared for backyard pet hens. That's a different thing from ex commercial birds.

I bought all the hens at 18 weeks of age from a commercial supplier. All are vaccinated. All free range every day, and enjoy kitchen scraps as well as top quality commercial food. :clnava
