I'm sure you'll all love my technical terminology! Sorry!

I posted a while back because my chickens werent laying and had been mouling for ages. Well, themoult is over, but the egg laying is at a maximum of 4-5 and usually about 3 a day - from 11 layers. One MIGHT be excused... she is getting on... anyway, lately there has been blood spots, or more significant bits, like little pink jelly beans in the albumen.

We don't have a rooster.

Any thoughts?

thanks, Alison

The long and the short of it is that the eggs are normal - the hens have been off the lay for a while and it takes a few cycles before it all settles down and begins to function properly.

If it continues over a longer time then please tell us and we will take a closer look at some perhaps more significant problems. In the mean time regard it as normal.

Mike
