I have a peacock and a hen.
they are about a two years old.
he seems fine and like to chase chooks.
she on the other hand looks sad.
her wings droop and she seems listless
goes back into the pen after a short period out grazing.
anybody have any suggestions?

It is very hard to see anything in that photo but as a general rule any bird that has wings drooping, head and tail down is a sick bird. There is a myriad of things it could be that range from potentially fatal to a transient viral cold or flu so any guess would be a wild guess.

Peacocks are the same as other species in that they do suffer an intestinal worm infestation. A good place to start the elimination process of what it could be is to worm all your poultry species with a good quality commercial worming preparation from a pet shop or produce store. Dont even bother trying home style recipes like garlic or apple cider vinegar as these are not known to be effective against a worm burden heavy enough to make a bird sick.

They tend to do the droopy wing look at the start of the breeding season. Assuming you're in Australia, the breeding season should be ending now. So that's probably not it.

Can you expand on the symptoms? Can you check her faeces? If it's sulphur yellow then she has blackhead & you need to get some treatment ASAP. Flagyl works for that.

thanks.
new to poultry
Im on a steep learning curve.
both seem to be loosing long feathers.
I assumed they were moulting but if they are unwell that could be a symptom.

I will get local medical advise pronto.
thanks for the assist.
fingers crossed Im not too late.
love my birds a bit much :(
cheers Lillian
