Hi all,
I have found that after a chook has had sour crop, some can take ages to recover, and the ones who do, sometimes if not usually, die sooner or later.
A mix of 1/4 teaspoon of bi carb soda in two tablespoons of water, dripped into the mouth/beak works better than anything I have tried over the years.

All the best,
Kazlee.

I use it to avoid acidosis when grain feeding cattle soaked grain. The rate I use is about 1% dry weight. That seems like a lot lower than 1/4 tease in two tablespoons. So a lower rate might be fine too. Obviously however if it works for you and there's no adverse effects I figure maybe don't mess with success. Thanks for sharing.

I had success using bicarb a few years ago and have used it a few times since.
