Hi i have 3 hens and 1 duck for the last 4 weeks they have layed an egg a day each then sunday it all stopped and all i got was 3 eggs for 4 days, one is starting to get broody but all are in good condition and eating very well . Are they just having a rest or is it change of season.
Thank you

Any chance they have started a secret nest away from the regular laying place? Is the broody at the stage of hogging the nestbox keeping the others out? Any disturbance in their environment can upset a regular laying routine. My hens are a bit erratic in their egg production at the moment & a couple are clucking but not trying to sit yet. Some magpies were upsetting them yesterday. You may never know for sure what has put them off but I wouldn't be too concerned at this point. :-)
