hello,i have a hen on the pain med meloxicam,she's had it for 4 days now and theres no difference in her,does it take a while to kick in or will it just not be working for her ? also, she has arthritis in her toe joints does anyone know of anything preferably more natural or herbal that could help with this ?

Meloxicam should work quickly. If it does not seem to be helping there is probably nothing better.

I thought it should be working by now,this same hen did have it a while ago for the same problem and it didn't help then she's been limping for about 8 mths now but she has very crooked toes so walking on them would cause problems in the long run,she doesn't seem too bothered by it,her weight is very good she's shiny and plump and active so maybe it doesn't hurt as much as it looks like it would.

just under 1ml daily but,just today I noticed she has improved but I cant be giving her this every day for the rest of her life ! so im looking for a more natural alternative.i have some cat glucosamine/chondroitin tabs im thinking of trying them on her,does anyone know if I could try it ?
