Hello

http://www.porschesrescue.com/adoptions/ has seven lovely girls available for adoption at the moment.

They have been treated for parasites and all seem to be full beaked and very healthy and very pretty. There is an adoption fee, from between $25 and $45.

Contact details on the website.

NB: I am not Porsche, simply spreading the word in hope that someone will take them.

Do you know if that site is really a charity? How can an older isa type hen cost the "rescuer" $45 to "save"? I find it difficult to imagine. Many people sell point of lay pure bred hens for less than that. I realise that often there are really good intentions behind adopting hens but sometimes I am concerned with all the public enthusiasm and guilt that it removes the need for the original owners to take responsibility for their birds (especially ex-commercial layers). And the fact is that pure bred or cross bred hens make much nicer pets than commercial hybrids.

Perhaps you should check with the website for those answers. I'm just helping out with trying to get the girls rehomed. But thank you for your interest.
