I have used a bell south 100 for ever but I have just decided to change, my bell South has seen better days,so I bought a Janoel 24.I just wanted to dabble a bit not as serious as I was. My question is it says not to change the temperature at all but it is showing 38, Too high? Any other comments would be appreciated ;-)

"showing 38" On it's read out or on another thermometer. Depending where the thermostat is 38 might be OK -if it is being registered at the top of the incubator rather than at egg level.
Older Janoels were notorious for inaccurate factory calibration. Once that was adjusted they were generally reliable.
I would first check the accuracy of the readout. Hopefully 38 will show 37.5 at egg level and then if the instructions recommend 38 go with it. An early hatch will indicate if it is too high.

Sorry for the delay in replying. My chicks have hatched, yes a little early but 8 out of 12 hatched, pretty happy with that. Any problems with hatching a bit early?

So long as they hatched easily and developed OK, 8/12 is pretty good. I can't put my hands on my Janoel insrtructions (Jn8-28) atm (too far from the fire :laughing ) but they do suggest lowering the temp a few days before due date. I've never bothered but it may slow the hatch.

I'd be interested on some feedback on this incubator. I like the look of the wrap around window for hatching. How did you find the humidity control?

There is also a face book group for the Jaonel 24 incubator.

I have never used one but there seem to be a lot of people happy with them.
