One of my goldens went broody so let her sit on some pheasant eggs, was a easy to manage broody, one chick hatched today, will be interesting to see how she is as a mum. Had one from my first go at pheasants who hatched a chicken, she was very protective, was amazed that the baby chicken at 10 days old was roosting high up in the orange tree under mum  didn't think was possible

I made the mistake of leaving the cock and other 2 hens in with her and they killed the first 2 that hatched, rescued 2 more and put in brooder. Lost the rest of eggs. Oh well lesson learnt. Good luck with yours Swayne. Have put some pheasant eggs under a broody blr bantam wyandotte and will see what happens.

Ok good to know, I removed the spare hen, however have left the cockbird in with her, I might move her eggs into a hatcher soonish.
Thanks
