Hi there,
I'm after some help as my Janoel 96 incubator readings are way out of whack.
I bought thermometer with hygrometer and its reading 37.8 temp and 65% humidity compared to my incubator readings of 41.2 temp and 48% humidity.
I have placed a second thermometer/hygrometer and there was only .1 temp difference between the 2.
This shows my incubator is way out and was hoping someone would be able to help. Looking for how to calibrate, mine only allow -5 &+5 in CA code or to do a factory reset.
Needing help asap.
Thank you in advance.

Calibrating temperature sensor reading

The thermometer correct reading is set at 0°C. The reading given by the thermometer can be adjusted if you find that the temperature reading is incorrect using a calibrated thermometer.

1. Calibrating the temperature sensor measurement = CA

2. Press and hold “SET” for 3 seconds.

3. Push “+” or “-“ until code CA appears in the temperature screen.

4. Push “SET”.

5. Push “+” or “-“ to adjust to the correct measurement.

Note that the adjustment is the difference between the thermometer reading and should be with “-“ if the temperature reading of the incubator is too high and normal value (indicating + value) if the incubator reading is too low.

Hi There;
I assume you "know" the above instructions and are saying you can only calibrate +0.5 or -0.5 degs.
I assume the incubator is reading 41.8 because you set it at that temp or close to in order to get the actual temperature to come higher to match your thermometers.

One thing that matches all your symptoms could be the sensor is in the wrong spot. These symptoms could be that the incubator temperature sensor is too close to the heater/s.

Try putting the thermometer sensor right next to the incubator temperature. Even sticky tape them together so you are 100% sure they are reading exactly the same piece of air. If the incubator and thermometer correspond more closely then your problem is placement of sensors.
If so calibrate with the thermometer and incubator sensor touching each other. Then place the incubator sensor close to the eggs after all that is where you want temperature to be perfect.
