Hi all,
I’m planning on bringing back some fertile Wyandotte eggs from Tasmania.
I can’t think of any reason why I would not be allowed to carry them onboard the plane, but does anyone know why I would not be?
Some stuff I have read suggests the X-ray could affect the eggs, so I was wondering if it would be possible to ask for the eggs not to be Passed through the X-ray, but be physically checked by security. Does anyone have any experience or thoughts on this?
Thanks

Xrays won’t affect the eggs.

What eggs do not like is vibration. So pack them as if you are posting them. Cushion each egg with tissues or similar so they can’t rattle around and wrap the carton is something shock absorbing but that will also let air through.

I have returned from Tasmania with the eggs, no problem going through security. I put the eggs in egg cartons, then in a a cooler bag under the seat in front of me. They are now in the incubator, fingers crossed.
