It’s too hot 38 c and my hen has got off her 11 Day20 fertile eggs. I have put water and scramble eggs out for her and a fan in the chook house. What else can I do?

just relax. at 38 the eggs are warm enough. the hen will sit bback on them before they get too cold. it is good that you have supplied her with food and water, but leave her be for the moment and all will be well.

Thanks. She did eventually go back on the nest so we’ll see what happens in today’s heat.

1 chick hatched overnight. I saw it peeking out and later this morning walking around her mum. It’s all very exciting and thankfully the cool change has arrived in Balnarring Beach. Mum has pecked at frozen watermelon and scrambled egg and a bit of water. Mum is an 8 year old buff Wyandotte -the last of my 6 hens and she’s sitting on Wyandotte eggs I bought.
