We just flew home from Perth to Brisbane and brought three dozen eggs with us in our hand luggage. I'm not sure how they'll go but no breakages on the way and we tried to be very gentle with them. They were stowed above us in the plane. They were x-rayed on check-in so I hope that doesn't have any effect on them.

I will set them tomorrow and we'll see how they go.

They should be fine. Modern planes are well pressurised & the x-rays they use are fine also. If the embryo was rapidly dividing then an x-ray would be undesirable however.

I brought a dozen eggs back from QLD to VIC. 100% fertile, 9 hatched, 2 not fully developed and 1 DIS.

I just had a vision in my head of all the eggs hatching in the luggage compartment. Now that would have been entertaining.

I brought three dozen back. One dozen was for a friend but I put the two remaining dozen in the incubator a week ago. It appears that 8 of the 12 sussex are developing. A couple of days ago I thought it was only 3, but I left a few in there just in case and I think another couple of days makes it easier to see. All 12 of the wyandottes (last dozen) are developing. So at this stage it all looks quite good and the aeroplane trip doesn't appear to have hurt them.

There was a garbage movie a few years ago "Snakes on a plane", here was I thinking this was gong to be a poultry inspired entry into the move business,
