I bought three day old Sussex Light pullets in April. They are growing nicely however one
has no markings at all. The other two are progressing well with their markings. Is it worth trying to breed from the un marked pullet when the time comes.

You have a white sussex?

Good for you, they are pretty rare. Historically whites were considered better layers than the lights, but they never proved popular as they lacked the trademark hackle.

I have been advised on this site that white is a simple autosomal recessive. I would breed it in an effort to get more (backcross to the mother). If you don't like the color it's worth trying to find someone willing to swap you. I have seen white trios advertised for several hundred dollars on farmstock.

Good luck

I have a pure white sussex pullet, photo's of her in gallery. She is quite pretty, I am hoping to use her with my PR's to hopefully start throwing some whites.
Cheers
