:( Just lost one of the chicks overnight :upset: It got strangled in its mums feathers. It was looking to be a blue cuckoo colour. Im now in a panic as to how I trim mum so it doesnt happen again.

I just got her and attacked her with the scissors all underneath her chest, belly, under her wings and around her legs and vent. She was none too pleased with me and the chicks were carrying on while I was doing it. I should have done this before as I have read where chicks get stuck in Silkie feathers. Just didnt think it would happen to me you know... :roll: Well I learned the hard way. Now on if I have Silkie mummies, they will be getting trimmed before I give them chickies.
