If they can swallow it, they will eat it. Once it goes down it will go into their crop to be broken down for the rest of digestion. I am always impressed by the size of what my Silkies can swallow.

I put the mother hen in with the other hens and 3 reds did not like that, mother hen ( Wyandotte ) and the reds, jumped up and rubbed chest together, so I decided to put mother hen back into the chicks. was that ok ??

I have mixed chook starter and grower together, and it looked like the chicks were eating that. if mother hen layers an egg today, should I throw it away, she is eating chook starter and grower.

Some people do eat the eggs of birds eating medicated feed. The concentration in one egg is probably very low. I prefer not to, especially if I am already taking other medication as I am not sure how they will interact. There are also some people who may have an allergic reaction.
Try again in a couple of days to put mum back - do it at night so that they wake up together and scatter some grain to distract them in the morning. They should soon settle down together again.

I'd give it a week or so to get the medication out of her system.
