mother hen layed her first egg, after hatching the eggs,

today I started them on the grower, but they are not eating it,

I have been told to soak it or crush it up

Are the grower pellets much bigger than the food they have been used to?

I have crushed the grower, and after a couple hours, they have not touched it, I have been told by 2 people to get them back on chook starter, so I have ordered another bag.

with the grower that I have, I cam mix that with the food for the hens, cart I??

Don't feed it to your adult birds if it is medicated. Try mixing increasing amounts of Grower with the Starter and don't refill their feeder until it is empty. Do you have any Starter left? If so cancel your order until you try the mix. It won't matter if they stay on the Starter except that then you will have a battle moving them on to layer in the future.

Barring is a sex-linked gene and so barred males and females look different. The dark ones are probably a different sex to the light one. I don't know much about barring though so I won't attempt to guess which is which.
