Hi
I have a pekin bantam hen raising 6 chicks. She was doing well but is now looking very pale in the face and lacking energy - not much appetite. I have wormed her for tapeworm yesterday morning (did all the other chooks a week ago). If she dies what is the best thing to do with the chicks? I have another mother with 4 chicks. If I put them under her at night will she accept them or would it be better to get a broody out and put them under her?
Thanks

Oh by the way the chicks are only 2 weeks old - have wing feathers and a few body feathers.

If you have another broody I would try her first. Put the chicks under her at night but leave a couple of eggs under her for a few days. The chicks will know where to go for warmth but will not need to be taught to eat and drink. She will probably stay put on the eggs and the chicks can escape from her if they need to.
