Well we just came back from a week in Noosa, needed the rest. :thumbs: A nephew was looking after my place but was too scared to move the hens of the nest to collect eggs so i have come back to 6 broodies :roll: :aaargh: . Cheched the eggs and yes most were fertile :aaargh: :doh .ohh well will have to look forward to an explosion of chicks.

Well the heat wave up to 44 degrees has sorted out the too many chicks to hatch issue, checked 3 nests well advanced with candling but smelt bad, water tested and all sank like rocks, looks like they got cooked. Still 3 nests to check but suspect the same result. Oh well that's nature for you.

One other nest that i hadn't checked and feared the worst , checked tonight , chick noises, checked , 1 is pipping and chirping from other eggs, blr bantam wyandotte eggs :nuts , will hopefully get a few.. still have another broody sitting that iam hopeful of some to hatch :pray .
