gidday everyone,i have a bit of a problem and needing advice please.i have a small square aviary on my back deck that is affixed to the deck itself but as there is a fair amount of colorbond its made it quite dark in there so its not nice for the birds in it.im wondering can i get a hole cut in the colorbond roof or side panel with mesh put over it or skylight type of thing ? and how can the colorbond be cut without dismantling the aviary ? also what sort of tradesperson would i contact to do it for me ? its been bugging me for so long and i just want it lighter in there,i wish now i didnt put it the way i did on the deck should have turned it around more to get more sun :dontknow
thanks

You need a nibbler, a cordless one is the easiest $30 for a days hire https://www.kennards.com.au/nibbler-metal-cordless.html.

Have a look at youtube for the method, basically you will have to drill one hole in the colorbond big enough to insert the head of the nibbler if you want a circle or one in each corner for a square hole.

Buy a sheet of corrugated clear suntuf from Bunnings for $24 https://www.bunnings.com.au/suntuf-860- ... t_p1015672 cut it to size with a decent overlap, predrill holes and use button head stitching screws $4 from Bunnings to fasten to the colorbond https://www.bunnings.com.au/zenith-8g-x ... k_p2420398. Run a bead of clear silicone between the sheets to waterproof it.

If you want someone to do it for you, any decent handyman should be able to help :-)
