Are these the girls first eggs? New layers often lay in odd places till they get into the swing of things so I would expect they will work out what to do soon. As far as the soft shells go, again, if they are new at this it often takes a few eggs for the chooks systems to settle down. It is not unusual to get a soft egg first up. What have you been feeding them? Just need to check that their dietnis adequate. If they are not forst time layers then two soft shells is more of a concern and you may need to suppliment their calcium by giving shell grit.

Really need to know if they are new to laying or new to you, and what you have been and are feeding now.

The first eggs from a lot of my chickens were soft and small but now they all lay nearly every day and we have had some absolute monster eggs!
Occasionally we get a random soft egg but they often just eat it as it breaks when they lay.

It's their first eggs they are on layer pellets, free range all day and have access to crushed egg shells .
They have not layed today 24 hours latter i am guessing they are just practicing and will swing into full production soon
