My recent sparrow breeding program has been very successful: what can I do about the little vermin?! I couldn't work out how to make this inquiry on your forum.

I have a special pen for sparrows, one in which I leave the door open, and when flocks of sparrows have entered looking for the wheat, I run in and shut the door. They can't escape while I catch them with a butterfly net. Once, I had about 40 in there at one time.

It's all about feed. Have you thought about getting an auto feeder, one with a lid that lifts up when the chicken strips on a pad? That will substantially reduce the amount of feed about and therefore reduce the attraction of sparrows and other vermin.
