I have three chickens one 9 weeks old hen and two 6 weeks old roo and hen they are still with their mothers the first hen is laying again she is the one with 1 chicken the other one is still clucky.I really need to put the first mother back with the flock but I feel reluctant to leave the one chicken on her own.
would it be ok to put both mothers back in the flock and put the chickens together in a different coop away from the flock. or could they all go back into the flock.......I do have a roo ? :th

Your 3 chicks would be better kept separate from the main flock until they are old enough to eat a layer feed. They are best to be kept on a Grower diet until at least 16 weeks (or until the bag is empty). They are old enough to be separated from their mothers but should all be ok together. They will bond and will integrate into the main flock as a group when they are older.

Thank you for your reply I have some chicken starter left and also pullet grower . . Would it be better to finish the chicken starter then start the pullet grower when i put the birds together or I thought i might mix them then when finished, go onto the pullet grower.

It's fine to mix the feeds until the starter is finished. They can then eat Grower until pol (until the bag is finished)
