OOPS my bad this relates to the Essendon show, same venue just a few weeks earlier!!

My son had a good day.
Champion Softfeather Standard Heavy with a blue Orp pullet for Juniors., plus Reserve Junior Bird of show with same bird.
All birds got carded with the exception of one blue pullet.

Also all the other kids we took had a ball picking up all the NERF stuff from the Zombie apocalypse thing the day before, got a whole garbage bag full!!!

The RASV will not be holding any more poultry computation show in Melbourne They want a american style fair with displays only. At the September show there is basically no or very little animal computations at the show. The sheep show is gone, the poultry, pigeons, dairy cattle , alpacas the cats I believe as well as many other animals. What is left i do not know.

We need to write to the board of the RAS Victoria and voice your disgust. If enough people do them who knows what will happen.

At Sydney royal the attract near to 1 million people How ever at melbourne royal they attract 500,000 WHY?

When the poultry went to a 5 day show at sydney the were inundated with complaints and now Sydney poultry is 13 to 14 days long and is the second most popular pavilion only beaten by the show bags.

Don't forget that the admission price of almost $40 remains the same. While they take any all animal exhibits

Poultry pen used to be one of the hardest to get around in every year. The RASV Board have lost all contact with the requirements of an "Agricultural Show" and the task of connecting the Urban and Rural populations..........has a similar ring to the politicians outlook on the "Bush".
They are totally immersed in the revenue stream they can generate from the "Rides" and the stall holders that pay for sites. Many of the food vendors have gone as the sites have become too dear.
The dog section is backed up by the input from Dogs Victoria and the staff they provide also the presence of Advance and the many dog related stall holders that are now in the Dog Pavilion.
All the other States seem to have maintained the connection between "Farm" and "Town" that the RASV have no idea how to generate. Show bags and Animals it is not a very difficult recipe plus throw in the odd crazy ride and that is it.

I agree Spide - this decision removes one of the key links townies have with rural life and I think that is a terrible loss to our community life.

I think this needs to be objected to, formally.

I feel a petition coming on!
