March Guest Speaker

Our speaker in March will be Greg Parkinson talking on the work done over many years by the late Bill Stanhope into developing a superior bantamized egg laying bird.

In 1963 Bill Stanhope started his own research and development project. He crossed bantam genes into white leghorn and New Hampshire lines which he'd bred over the years to produce a much smaller bird.

Greg will talk about what was done in the past to develop these birds, where they are now and what is the future for the poultry industry considering the concentration of commercial poultry in the hands of just a few international corporations.

The meeting will be held on 7th March from 7:30pm in the Horace Don Poultry Pavilion at the Kyneton Showgrounds.  Non-members are welcome and are asked to make a gold coin donation.
