Sorry about how late it has been for me to put this up but here it is.

This is my 40 (bantam) egg semi auto incubator. This incubator has been modified from Denis’s 2 hr incubator. The fan pushes the warmed up air from the light bulbs down the sides in the ducts and comes out the holes along it, this then gets sucked back in through the fan and happens all over agian. The rows don’t move only the shelf that lies on the bottom two ducts slides up and down the incubator turning the eggs a half turn every time, this is done but pulling and pushing the handle. The water tray needs to be bigger as we found that it needs to filled up every day. These are the results for our first and only hatch so far in this incubator…
13 eggs hatched and 15 developed and died, I think this is due to the low humidity level as we would find the tray empty a lot of the time.
Hope you like it.

Alex.

That's great Macca. I am interested to see your venting system. I am working that out at the moment with mine.
Thanks for the pics.

Looks Great. by the look of it you could make it a Two Shelf may be 1 and a half or set one up so you can have to different Hatches going at the same time.

Do you hatch in there too? How do you remove the rails in between the eggs or do you just take them off it and put them on some other hatching tray on top? It's just that without some sort of tray I can see chicks falling off the edges or heading towards the fan (unless there's a grill there to stop them).

It looks great though!

Chookstarter- yes thats the one problem we have, we just take the eggs out and then take off the to ducts up the top and then just pull out the rows. the rows are also just slotted into the wood so u can make the rows any size you want. once we have taken them out we just put a big hatching basket on top of the moving shelf, and then we put the ducts back in.

Ben- lol i think i might keep it at 40 eggs as my dad would kill me if i hached anymore .
