So they are judged, the same way as a pen of Lambs.
Best pen on the hoof & then best pen on the hook.
Would like to see, the score sheets results on the hook. :?:

Upon the suggestion of several exhibitors a few years ago all meat chicks are judged live and awarded prizes. Then the lot are processed and the winners are judged. The winners come back and are displayed in the fridge. The birds are processed on the last Thursday of the show. The processor gets all the birds.

A brilliant competition. Also the schools have to log all the growth of the birds and they have to raise the birds as as project. There are several pages of info that need to be recorded. Contact Guy from Albury Poultry Club as his school has more info on what goes on.

I believe "Better Homes and Garden " (tonight 14/6) has Doc Harry with a feature on the poultry at Sydney Royal.
John Graveur rang me last night and said he had been given the "heads up " on the programme .
