A a few months ago blackdotte sent me some pics of a trap nest he had built. They ended up in my "to-do" folder, so I am sorry its taken so long. I enjoy hearing of projects like these :wink: and its great that they can be shared on the forum. Below are the photos. Thanks again blackdotte :D

i dont quite get how the little piece of wood holds up the door and slips away?
any chance of a close up or something of that Andy... or explain it to me!

The small piece of wood is free to rotate,it is hinged by use of a nail which is driven into the side. In the open position it is set to hold the door up,as the hen enters she lifts the door slightly and the piece of wood drops to the vertical,and the door follows trapping her.
Hope that makes sense.

If you want to only hatch eggs from specific chooks if they are all running together.


Sorry forgot: Also if you are trying to identify things like who is laying the soft shelled eggs etc.
