Wondering who else is already focussed on their breeding for the coming season with the view to next year?

The season is so out of whack on Mt Dandenong I’m only now getting chicks on the ground that should have been hatched last August September etc. is the change of season affecting anyone else so differently from the past?

I'm focussed on breeding but not for a show..... I would like to improve my lines and move towards targets I have. However, not many eggs at the moment. The only layers presently active in my flock are pullets coming into lay. The older girls are all moulting or stopped for the 'dark times'...... Are you helping yours with a bit of light?

I’m almost never home  I wish.

Having said that it’s good you set your sight to modest improvement. Having said that I’ve king since moved from improving except I could have extra size and many more in the flock. I don’t really show anymore except when I can get to the Mediterranean and every four years the National.

:peece if anyone has spare Gold Penciled Hamburgh pullets let me know please!

I remember seeing those at the last national blue slate legged leghorn crosses with massive combs. I know your heart is in right place hopefully you and the misses are ok. Hopefully you can get yours into the right colours and correct leg colour.

Who ever enters the next show hopefully the judge can award a Buttercup the top prize and not an F1 cross with just a big comb.
