SPRING HELMSMAN POULTRY AUCTION 13/10/2019
Another successful auction. There were 57 sellers and 211 registered bidders in attendance. Unfortunately two stallholders were unable to attend due to circumstances beyond their control but we expect to have their company in April.
Rohan Broom was extremely busy selling out of grains but will bring more stock next time. We had our own busker in Lesley McLure entertaining near the Sausage Sizzle and I’m sure we all enjoyed her performance. The Animal Farm amused and educated the younger brigade and we appreciated Susan coming. She also acquired some injured birds for rescue so well done Susan. Geoff Owen had his automatic chicken coop doors for demonstration and sale which were very interesting and we hope he had follow up business and it would be nice to see him return.
There was a large number in attendance and bidding was brisk with some very nice prices paid. Many sellers left with satisfied expressions on their faces. There were over sixty pens that realised over $100.00 and some much more with a terrific clearance rate during the sale. Almost all the eggs sold and prices were fair to very good.
We would like to thank all club members who contribute to make these auctions so rewarding. The KDPC appreciates the support we receive from the sellers and bidders and we look forward to their ongoing support.
