The next monthly meeting of the KDPC will be held at 7.30pm on Thursday 7/11/19 in the Horace Don Pavilion at the Kyneton Showgrounds on the corner of Mollison and Beauchamp Streets Kyneton.
The November guest speaker will be Fiona Scott-Norman.
Fiona is a writer, comedian, DJ, cabaret director, teacher - and owner of five bossy rosecombs and two ridiculous silkies. She lives in inner-city Melbourne, and her chicken story has led her from first acquisition of some bantam australorps, to travelling Australia meeting and interviewing chook fanatics of all stripes, from Fanciers and activists to hensioners, a child with autism, and an Instagram star who crochets little hats for poultry. The result is a collaborative book with photographer Ilana Rose. This Chicken Life: Stories of chickens and the Australians who love them, is published on November 26th, and can be pre-ordered from publisher Pan MacMillan here:
https://www.panmacmillan.com.au/9781760 ... cken-life/Fiona’s talk, My Chicken Life, is the story of how an inner-city comic and writer fell in love with chickens, had a very steep learning curve, discovered that the benefits of chooks are many, and that the chicken-loving community is as diverse as the chickens they adore. With slides!
Visitors are welcome to come and enjoy a fun evening and a light supper is available.
The club requests visitors to make a gold coin donation
