Help Pekin genetics. I have just bought 2 blue cuckoo pullet chicks and 1 blue splash what rooster should I use to get more cuckoo chicks?
What about black rooster with cuckoo gene? Or should I only use cuckoo roo? What will splash hen chicks look like?

Genetics of pekins are the same as genetics of other chickens.

If you use a cuckoo male over them, you will get all cuckoo chicks if he is homozygous for the barring gene. If he only has one, then you'll get a mix of black and cuckoo offspring.

The blue is another issue. To show blue the chicks need to have one copy of the blue gene. If you use a blue male you'll get some splash (2Xblue), some black and some blue.

Splash colouring is mostly white with bits of blue here and there.

I'd use a black cuckoo, homozygous for barring. Then all the offspring will be barred, half being blue barred and half being black barred.

You can test what I'm saying and try other variations yourself here: http://kippenjungle.nl/kruising.html
