Hi.
My husband said that he heard my Australorp making strange noises. Is it possible that she is a cockerel? I was beginning to feel that I was safe and could stop studying her daily for rooster signs. She has such a small comb. Her tail feathers do curve over, but so do those on my egg-laying Orpingtons and I can't see any pointy hackle feathers. She is 16 weeks old. The Speckled Sussex beside her is supposed to be the same age but we got her when the Australorp was already 5 weeks and although she was smaller we were told she was 5 weeks too.
Should I be concerned? Please help.
Thanks (again), Martine

Hi Martine,
Most definitely both are pullets, Australorp and speckled Sussex.

Thank you. What a relief!! They are both so sweet. I'm glad they'll be staying.
