Hmmmm, yes. I love watching my chooks too. They way they mingle, interact with each other and with humans. Chooks don't change their behaviour with the stock market, nor with politics. It doesn't matter what kind of day I have had, I can be sure the chooks will be "normal". This is a good leveler for me. Kind of like a sanity check.

I have not yet got a handle on all the genes, also have not done much more than increase the numbers in the flocks. Theres been some interesting crosses. I have coronation sussex, so there is a lavender gene in there, which i thought was supposed to be double recessive. A couple of offspring have been full lav without the columbian pattern. So, without knowing the parentage of the original group, I'm a bit at a loss as to how that happened...... AND I am not quite sure whose eggs these came from...... So, some good records might have solved this problem sooner.

It is all of little consequence though, it is very much a hobby and a set of experiments at the moment. As I get a better understanding and more experienced, I will also work out which way to proceed.

Globi, it's the behaviour which intrigues me too.
