Hello, we are going to have chickens and are now thinking through all the details. I have a question about feeding At home day often nobody can be and need a feeder which does not need to constantly add food. In the Internet there are many variants of such devices, but I want to get more information. I'm interested in something similar to this bunker. Share your ideas and experiences.

Treadle feeders are best if you don’t want vermin (mice & rats) otherwise it just depends on how many chickens you have (one PVC outlet for many chickens is not enough) and where you position the feeder.

I observe in fascination a worm move by peristaltic action through the freshly turned earth as I plant out my chilies. Grasping the Annelid I toss it to the waiting pack of beady-eyed vultures and watch the ensuing mayhem while laughing like a chook!

My backyard became paradise when I got a grandpa treadle feeder. Food available all day, and yet goodbye sparrows, pigeons and rats. Only a couple of mynahs still hang around - they wait till a chook has it open and sneak in to grab a bit.
